The Nigeria Youth Coalition for Positive Change (NYCPC) has officially launched a new initiative aimed at fostering social and health awareness in secondary schools across the nation. The program, driven by NYCPC’s commitment to youth development and national transformation, will introduce clubs in schools where students can engage in discussions on patriotism, moral values, ethics, and community building. Through these efforts, NYCPC seeks to address the increasing moral challenges within Nigerian society, empowering young Nigerians to embody values essential for leadership and national progress.

The NYCPC Secondary School Clubs will provide students with an understanding of the importance of patriotism, hard work, diligence, and the value of contributing to their communities. By focusing on personal ethics, social awareness, and the principles of good citizenship, the clubs aim to cultivate a new generation that will contribute positively to Nigeria’s future. Through seminars, discussions, and community activities, students will learn that as future leaders, they hold a critical role in Nigeria’s development and that by living with purpose and responsibility, they can help shape a more unified and ethical nation.

In launching these clubs, NYCPC is also confronting one of Nigeria’s pressing challenges: a lack of patriotism among its citizens. The absence of a strong sense of national pride and commitment to collective well-being has been a factor in Nigeria’s economic, social, and political struggles. NYCPC believes that teaching young people about the significance of patriotism and selfless service at an early age will help tackle this problem. By fostering a sense of responsibility towards their country, NYCPC hopes these students will grow up with a deepened appreciation for their roles as future nation-builders.

Patriot Adebowale Jimoh, Convener of NYCPC, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our nation’s youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also the agents of change today. We need to provide them with the tools and knowledge that instill a strong sense of duty, integrity, and patriotism. This is essential if we want to heal our society’s moral fabric.”

Currently, the initiative has successfully partnered with several private secondary schools to establish these clubs, with plans underway to expand the program into public schools nationwide. NYCPC is actively working with state Ministries of Education across the federation to bring this program to public institutions, further ensuring that young people from all backgrounds have the opportunity to benefit from these teachings.

As the NYCPC Secondary School Club initiative grows, it aims to be a foundation for social reform in Nigeria, nurturing young people who will live by principles of integrity and service. Through this program, NYCPC envisions a future where Nigerian youth not only understand their role in society but take active steps to lead with character and to inspire a culture of patriotism and ethical responsibility across the nation.
